Fun Filled Day

I started this post last night but got distracted half way through so I never got it finished, anyway here's a snippit of my lovely day yesterday at my Aunties house.

Nibbled cupcakes. A little mouse has eaten some of the icing off these!

This is Sylar, my friends little Pomeranian pup. He is such a cute ball of fluff!

Aqua

I haven't any fresh creations of my own to share with you today so I thought I would let you see some aqua themed goodies I found on Etsy tonight. I am loving all things aqua just now, maybe I need to go to the beach! I hope you enjoy these as much as I do!

Gettin to know you

I have been reading lots of blogs lately and some of your wonderful comments here in relation to my competition. (still on going, to be drawn in 5 days now. Mental note, next time I do a comp I will announce it and draw the winner within 1 week, even I'm getting impatient waiting!) And people talk about blogs with personality, and I too really enjoy knowing a little bit more about the person behind the pages. This has got me thinking a lot about the distance I keep from revealing too much and getting too personal, and know I feel ready to to share a bit more.

No, I'm not going to start listing everything I have eaten each day, (I know what your thinking, she'll do anything to reach 100!), just a little bit more about me, not all about the creations.

So here goes......

This is where I am at my happiest, behind my beloved camera. I get such joy from capturing moments, scenes, people, places and most of all flowers. I really started taking photos in college as a part of the cource to get into Art School. Then when I managed to develope my own 'arty' images of my friends hanging from railings, I thought mmmm I really like this and how these turned out. From then on it has brought me such pleasure and photoshop comes a close second. I love the rawness of the initial image and the possibilities that photoshop provides.

These are two little snippits of my desk and some of the images that are inspiring me at the moment. I love eastern delights, the colours, fabrics, jewels, and beautiful painted faces. There is a skirt which I have my eye on from Boden , their clothes are beautifully simple and stylish with bursts of colour. I love my Mark Rothko postcards, "White Center" is the one I have chosen for this week. And my retro radio, a gift from a bestist buddy who was shoked and appalled to hear I didn't have a radio in my bathroom, so much so she gave me this! Needless to say I can't bring myself to leave it in the loo, so it sits beside me on my desk.

So there we are, a little gettin to know me session. I hope it wasn't too much.
Goodnight blogland :)

Midnight Sparkles

Just aded these and some other little delights to the shop, I love them and have just finished a pair for myself too! I have used fresh water pearls, hematite cubes and black diamond swarovski crystals, and they really do sparkle. Sorry this is short one, but busy busy busy with a huge list of things to do.

New editions

I would like to Introduce Stefan (in rusty orange and green), and Erika (in wine, cream and pink). These are the 2 newest editions to the Yibble family. I have decided not to have fabric arms and legs stitched on, this way when I use my tablet and pen to illustrate the stories they can be doodled limbs and can be more flexable.

This meant Anneliese had to have an op. She is now legless, but consoled by the fact she has a family now! I am still brimming with ideas for them but have some other less creative work on at the moment, so their adventures are limited to my joural at bedtime!

Today is a day for new editions...... but it's still a surprise I'll let you know more very soon :)

New goodies in Shop

I'm going to get the timing right for this 100th post at all costs, hehehe!

Here's a new bracelet I have just listed in the shop, "Tutti Fruitti", inspiration straight from bo's love of all things sugary and sweet.

Not forgotton

I have not forgotton about Stefan, he is just still a work in progress. I have lots of ideas now, with bo's help, for the land of yibble and some adventures. We are thinking a recycled land, where all their finds (our discarded items) are transformed into wonderful useful or decorative things! More to follow soon.

I got this beautiful parcel on Friday from etsy seller starlitnest. They are 2 envelopes filled with beautiful farbric remnants and now I can't decide what to make with them, they are all so beautiful! Maybe they could become part of the yibble creations?
Well lots to do, I am still relisting things on etsy with new photos, making bracelets and have a card commission to work on over the next few days, plus some much needed book keeping, so I need to keep my head down and get stuck in. I managed to waste a whole hour this morning writing a new set of lists and scoring off done jobs. What a joy! Do you write lists? What kinds of lists do you like?
Keep posting for the competition new visitors, the time is coming soon, and I better keep posting I'm only at 85 and I only have 7 days left! Let me just do the maths...... so thats 7 days and 15 posts... oops. Well I'll come back tonight with something to show from my soon to be productive day hehe.

Chocolate inspired

One of you, and you know who you are, suggested making some chocolate inspired earrings, so here they are!

These "Topaz Triplets" are in the shop now. Well I'm going to go now and turn this computer off and set up my desk to make some new charm bracelets. I was looking through the shop today and realised how bracelety bare it is, time to bring in some fresh sparkles. And if I have time I'll work on Stefan....... a new Yibble perhaps?

I have arrived!

I would like you to meet Annelise, she was born last night at 9.56pm and isn't she cute? She is the first real, live Yibble! I have been wanted to do some more sewing for a while now and keep looking at the beautiful pile of fabric and decided I would create a Yibble and see if that helps me focus on stories/ doodles ect. She is made of linen from namolio and she is stuffed with a cushion I got from a thrift shop. I have spent some time today working on the first of many "Yibble Adventures". And tonight I'm going to watch a movie and make some more of the family.

Now for your imput, what types of adventure would you like to see Annelise go on?

Got some lovely new earrings I'll be adding to the shop over the weekend so pop by for a wee look. And I'll let you into a little secret too, I'm getting ready for an etsy spring sale! More details coming soon.

I went to one of my local thrift shops the ther day to hand some things in and could not resist these 2 little jars. I haven't decided yet what I'm going to put in them, but my bo has been full of useful ideas, his favourite being one for collecting his tummy button fluf! Somehow I just don't think so!

A big hello to all you new visitors to my blog and thanks for enetring my competition. Keep your entries coming, you still have another 16 days to enter. (I know it seems like ages away!)

Play day

Firstly thanks for all the comments on my 100th post competition, I'll put all the names from all the comments from yesterday until March 31st into the draw so keep adding your reasons for blogging and top tips.

These are a couple of new earrings I added to the shop today, and I have lowered some of my prices too, to make room for new stock, so pop by and have a wee peek. Tonight I spent some time with my little friends the Yibbles and even brought myself to bring out the water colours! I have never really learned how to paint with them but just love how they look with the fineliner, but hey who cares it's all about enjoying what you're doing isn't it? What are your favourite materials to work with just now?
I have just started making time for play dates and although it is hard at first to say 'no, I won't put those clothes away, or clean the kitchen, instead I'm going to play!'. But when I'm done it is so much more rewarding than filling another load in the washing machine. What do you like to do on a play date?

"Spreading the Love" was inspired by all the new friends I have made in blogland!

100th Post Competition

Well here is my first ever blog competition to celebrate my 100th post which should be coming pretty soon. I started this blog on the 1st October 2007 and oh my, I have learned soo much and met a bunch of wonderfully creative and inspiring people. The reason I decided to start one was that I had found a couple of other designers had pages and I got great pleasure reading what they had been up to and seeing little snippets of their work. So I decided I would do the same! It has been such a delight making contact with people all over the world and forming electronic friendships, Flickr, and of cource you showed me ETSY! So thank you! My business is now growing much faster and wider than it was with just my website and I am motivated on a daily basis to create something new.
I would say my top bloggin tip is to share as often as you can and want to, and show a picture of something, whether it's something you have made or something that is inspiring you. I love sneeking little peeks into other peoples creative worlds! And my next tip would be to find a cluster of like minded folks whos blogs you like and comment on their posts. I remember the first comment I recieved and it warmed my heart that someone out there, from another country had found little old me!

Anyway enough about me, this is all about YOU now! Tell me why you started your blog and your top blogging tips, and in return I'll draw one lucky person and design and make them their very own Bloggin Bracelet! I will use your blog as a theme as inspiration for colours and style.
So get thinking, typing and spreading the word!
I will close the competition on Monday the 31st of March and announce the winner on Tuesday 1st of April. (This has nothing to do with April fools day, the date just falls with when I should be writing my 100th post!)
GOOD LUCK

Sibble and Dibble

Tonight's Yibble inspiration came from my bo bringing me a small bunch of dafodills. We were out visiting my bestist friend and on the way home he nipped in to get some bread and came out armed with flours! What a man, this is so special because it's not really his thing, he prefers to buy me a plant that will last for years not just days. But he said they had been reduced to 30p and he couldn't resist.

Now less of the soppy stuff, I have decidied on my competition so pop by tomorrow evening for more details and how to enter.

Just finished this bracelet as a little commision and wanted to let you see. I love the cubes of rose quartz with the large gunmetal beads, pink and jet are one of my favourite colour combinations. I think I'll make another one up for the shop this week.

Pure Heaven

Well I decided I was going to spend some time today making up some inspirational collages for the wall that my desk faces, and here is one of them! Chocolate delight. I have mentioned before how much I love food photography, anything from cupcakes to beautifully styled sandwiches! I think it all started during my final year at art school. My specialism was knitted textiles and one of the schools sponsors was Rennie Yarns. They set us a competition, to use their yarn in an creative and unique way for a display for them to take to an International trade show.

I decided on knitted and felted chocolates and I came 2nd! During my research I spent a lot of time photographing chocolate, reading books on it and it was at the same time that the film "Chocolate", with Jonny Depp and Juliette Binoche was out in the cinema! This is where it all began, I don't really like eating chocolate, but love the smell and how amazing some of them look.

It is coming up to my 100th post so I'm going to run a little competition, I haven't quite decided on the fine details yet but more to come very soon, and I have some very special delights for prizes!!!!!

New Finds

new earrings in shop

What a wonderful weekend I am having! I have yet again gutted out my studio, I had to make some space for more of bo's tools which meant re-arranging lots of things, recycling lots of things and filling some bags for my friend's school to use for craft projects. As usual I created a whirl wind and more mess than there was to begin with, but now 1 day later I have a clear desk, more space and bo has somewhere for 1 new drill and box of plumbing bits!

I have taken down all my little photos and drawings that normally hang on the wall that I face at my desk and I am trying to decide what will go back up, I feel ready for some fresh inspiration, and while I was digesting posts from my daily read lists I found a new facinating blog, A Fanciful Twist and she made this amazing post about using her magazines as inspiration but rather than just piling them high, she has made beautiful collages from them so she can see them every day. What a great idea, so that's another thing for my list.

"Love Me page......" by fleamarketstudio

I was uploading some new jewellery pics to flicker and would like to share a recent find with you. This is fleamarketstudio, she has beautiful art pieces and make journals from thrift store finds. I love the delicate feel of the colours and textures and her work is an inspiration to me!
Happy Sunday all x

Go see Blaze

You have to head over and visit Blaze, she has a wonderful blog with sneeky peeks at her illustrations and inspirations and today she has just listed Penny Playlists in her etsy shop. What a cool idea! You can go along and buy one from her shop on the condition you bring someone new to her blog, so head along and introduce yourself!

I have had a lovely day today, making earrings and cards, seeing family and had a hair cut. I got these tiny hearts just before Christmas and have been mulling over what to do with them and have decided on a 'string of dangley hearts'! The hearts are semi precious howlite stones and look so delicate, I love them. So I'm just off to list them in the shop.
