Adele - Chasing Pavements **IN SYNCH**

Diffrenet types of work

Hi all,
The reason for my disappearance has been lots more work and needing to make time for normal house stuff, and reading too. I have been spending my usual bloggin time engrosed in Astrology for Lovers, a fun book charting details about star signs and how they affect our relationships.

On the work front I have finished the 2 wedding card commissions and they are both now with the brides to be. This week I have been working on a set of medical product training sheets for my Mum. I finished them yesterday and they are now working their way down the country to one of her coleiges who needs them for Monday. I really enjoy doing different types of projects this one was more graphic design and illustration than I have done in a long time!

So today I am back home sitting at my desk and I'm going to have a play day! I'm not quite sure what I want to do but that doesn't really matter, just sitting her surrounded by my doodles, pens and glue with a bit of Adele, see vid above, playing in the background is enough to make me happy! Hope you all have a fab weekend :)

Dingle dangle

I'm back!

I have been soooo busy with lots of exciting projects, they all seemed to have kicked off at once!
Been making up new earrings and bracelets and they are selling just as quickly as I can make them, which is fab. The new outlets I have found seem to be hitting the mark and getting the right people to see my jewellery has really worked. But I really have to curb my etsy shopping addiction now. I just got a new parcel of findings and yummy beads through from The Bead Eye and I can't wait to start making earrings up and a few pairs for myself, of course!!
I am working on another wedding card commission at the moment, all magical pinks and silver, very stylish and subtle, I am about half way through now so the end is in sight.

let them eat cake

Pretty Pink Close up by cakejournal I feel at a loss not checking in here more often but I am really to busy with work and commissions just now so I'll have to make do with 2 or 3 posts a week :(

I spent the weekend making up earrings and got them all delivered on Monday in a godie box so hopefully they'll be selling lke hot cakes! I have a few schools wanting boxes too, so I'm going to start making up cards, little birds, and some more jewellery once I have cleared the decks from some other projects. I am also sorting out bo's books this week which I really enjoy, but I'm bursting with ideas and getting fustrated that I can't make anything untill I get them finished, so as a little treat I got myself a new cupcake book. "Cupcakes and Fairycakes", from the Australian Woman's Weekly.
I haven't had a chance to scan any of the images yet, but I have found some on Flickr mmmmm.
kylie lambert made both of the images above.

As I have mentioned before, I don't really eat sweet things, and can't really bake but I love how cupcakes look, are styled and photographed. There are some wonderful designs, I love the surface texture of these 2, they must take soooo much work. So my thought for today, 'llet them eat cake and I'll enjoy the styling!'

stamp, stick, bend

It's been a busy weekend here in Paisley! I have been making non stop all weekend, earrings, earrings, some bracelets and more earrings. I have just finished packageing them all up and have 10 charm bracelets and 60 pairs of earrings. I'll photo them in the morning before I drop them off to the businesses in Barrhead. I started this at Christmas, I went into the bank, council offices and some schools and showed the manager my goodies and asked if I could come back and leave a bo of jewellery and cards for 3 days. Everyone was very kind and gave me the go a head. I was in the bank last week and one of the ladies asked when I was bringing m next batch in, so I have been busy making away for them and one of my friends and her mum work in schools and they want a bo too!
I love it when they are all packaged up, looking very neat with my new stamp. The packaging looks so much more professional now and it saves me using stickers with my contact details.
I took some time out yesterday to sit in my garden, it was lovely and fresh and bright. I have been keeping a close eye on all my bulbs waiting with eager anticipation for new shoots from my tulip selection. I got such a lot of pleasure and photography from them last year and I was very chuffed with them as they were the first bulbs I have planted for my own garden. I have one bed full of herbs, I love growing, watching then eating them! I bought a 'curry plant' when moved here and it just seems to grow like wild fire. I'm not really sure what to do with it, but it smells amazing. I cut some bay leaves to dry for soups and pasta sauces.

This is a photo I took last year of one of the types of tulips that came up, I love the colour, it's rich and velvety. Nature is such an inspiration!

Oh what an exciting day!

Firstly I was woken by the postie delivering my parcel from Zoopri. She sell all sorts of wonderful goodies including customised rubber stamps and stickers. She was so helpful when I was chatting to her about the design and styles and they came all the way from Singapore really quickly. I am so excited I took some snaps!
Then when I was checking out my etsy shop I saw that there was a special commission my bo and i had ordered was ready! Blaze my blog buddy has done this wonderful set and commission for me and my bo's 1st year wedding anniversary. I have the spot on the wall reserved for these delights and am so excited! I am constantly doing commissions for other people so it is so nice to have my own fist one. Here's a sneeky peek at the set.
And lastly I wanted to show you my knitting, I have finished my first hand knitted project a scarf and now I am on to scarf number 2!

Getting Sorted

The beginning of this week has been filled with non craft/ design things, so the second half of the week I filled with making! I have been making new earrings for my shop and some other outlets.

This week has been a thoughtful one. I have realised that I am spending very little time making for me, not to sell or for a reason, but just for pleasure, and that was a real wake up call. So I have decided to split my week up, blog 3 times a week, flikr twice a week, indirepublic once a week and a maximum of 20 minutes a day on Etsy. And I have penciled in 30mins a day 'artists date' as Julia Cameron calles it in "The Artists Way".

This will be adjusted and more tme added when I have got into the swing of my newtime table. At art school when I was running dry I would just dive back into my sketchbooks, doodle and reaserch and streams of ideas would come. Now I am getting the ideas but not making the time to sit and actually make them and let them develope! So over the next few months I want to explore collage, sewing, drawing, maybe even some painting, more photographing, and really having fun for funs sake! So I'll keep you posted on my progress.

I have also decided to leave the 30 days to a better shop challenge. I am still checkin in at Christina's blog but I don't want to feel I have to keep you all updated with it all the little changes to my shop. I will of cource let you know when I reach my 100th sale!

Here is a little guy I have made for someone special and he has been a large part of my thought shift this week, make time for the good stuff!
